Blythe is the world

Find me at Embellish Yourself

Blythe is the sort of girl you never get over. Once you fall for her big eyes that’s it. There’s no going back. You may drift apart from her for a few days, weeks or months but her charm will always get you back in the end.
To welcome in the New Year, I decided my first post should be about the girl who I’m going to be focusing on this January. My Etsy store is going to be filled with more clothes for her, I will finally finish my alpaca reroot and customise a few more dolls.
I bought a factory girl a while back and I don’t like her face shine and her hair feels a bit manky for some reason. I think I’m going to work on her. Maybe even give her an alpaca reroo too, but that may be pushing it. Rerooting is hell, as anyone who has attemped it will know.
So yay for all those Blythe lovers out there and all the fabulous people making clothes for her.

Horsing Around

It was recently the Melbourne Cup in Australia which results in full on horsing around. The whole country stops and watches the race around the track, punters are out and ladies dress to impress. It’s a day to have a little time out, watch the race, sip champagne, choose a horse and for some odd reason, eat cold chicken. To celebrate the tradition, I have chosen some cute horsey items from Etsy to feature this week.

Wonderful finds, Gorgeous creations

I am very excited as today I have discovered someone extremely inspiring. I have stumbled upon sohomode in my travels through the world of Etsy.

sohomode is selling beautifully crafted and one of a kind dresses made from vintage and found materials. Her custom tea dresses have really taken my breathe away.

There are a few reasons I adore being a part of Etsy. It’s not just being able to keep a little shop and feel proud of it but it’s also having the opportunity be involved in such a thriving, creative community.
There’s constantly new things to be inspired and astonished by.

Take a look at sohomode‘s incredible creations.

This was the first dress I came across and I actually gasped when I saw it. The fabric she uses is just spectacular. I have always been in love with floral and vintage and retro floral even more so.

The pastel colors on this dress are so lovely and the puffy design is simply reminiscent of meringues and tea parties. Devine!

The boldness of the colors really took me with this dress.
It’s like wearing a brilliant and flourishing garden. the cut is very flattering also.

This dress is possibly my very favorite. The scatterings of flowers in strictly retro colors and the shape of the dress. Faultless.

Visit  sohomode to see her entire range.
